It's Official: 2010 Flying Pig Marathon

After lots of consideration, I've decided to run my next marathon on May 2, 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 12th Annual Flying Pig Marathon!  I've heard nothing but great comments about this race.  The crowd support, course, timing, travel, and family schedules all pointed to this race as my next marathon.  With so many great marathons to choose from, it's hard to go wrong.  That's why I'd like to try some new ones each year to experience various venues and races.

The Cincinnati course has some hills to it, but that's fine and should make for a challenging event.  To prepare for this marathon, my training will begin on December 31, 2009.  Follow me on Buckeye Outdoors to monitor my progress and I welcome you to provide tips and encouragement along the way.

Having rested my hip for some time after the Marine Corps Marathon, I'm ready to get back into my training regimen.  I'm also busy planning the entire 2010 race calendar.  Stay tuned for more on what I think will be a challenging and diverse year of running!

If you haven't signed up for a Spring marathon and are considering one, check out the Pig and come join me for a what is sure to be a great race!

  3. You'll enjoy Cincy, for sure. Very good race, great support. Not sure if that's what I'm running this year or not. I have a "score to settle" with the Flying Pig course! But I might be at the Kentucky Derby that weekend, trying to make me some cash! =)

Good luck though. hope the training goes well. I'll be following ya' as you get ready.
